Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is a specialised form of CBT that is designed for those with emotion regulation challenges, interpersonal difficulties and often suicide and self-harm crisis behaviours.   DBT is seen as a highly effective treatment for Borderline Personality Disorder.   See the FAQ's for more details.

Online sessions

For those who live rurally (as I do) or maybe you have transport difficulties and getting to a physical venue is not feasible or you may be housebound for some reason be it physical health or as part of the mental health challenges you experience, I offer online therapy sessions. 

I use a program that is designed for health professionals to ensure privacy and ease of use.  No need to download anything, just follow the link provided and it will use your own browser to connect us.  

Online sessions do lack something you get with face to face sessions - the experience of having someone sitting in the room with you; that personal touch.  

As such, I suggest that if you can make it in that would be the best option and if online is how it needs to be, that's fine too.  

Who benefits most?

Clients who attend sessions regularly and complete between-session tasks achieve the best outcomes. Practice sheets are provided in electronic or paper form, depending on your preference, for ease of completion.
